Disable login programs on boot of Mac OS X

If you’re looking to boot your Mac up without loading the login items (the programs that start automatically when you start your computer), simply press the UP arrow key as Mac OS X starts.

This is incredibly helpful for debugging slow startup issues, and troubleshooting problems you may be having.
