This will save you tons of time!

If I can avoid popping over to the mouse at any time, I’m all for it. ;)   One of the things we all do on our Mac’s is load programs, I’ve found this keyboard shortcut saves tons of time (especially with how fast Leopard is!)

Hold Command and press Space Bar.

Spotlight will appear will in the upper right corner…

At that point, simply type “saf” and Safari should automatically appear (and be highlighted) then press Return.

Whola – Safari loads!

If you want to move up and down in the Spotlight results area, simply use your up and down arrow keys.

Spotlight, in itself, is amazing search function (much better than anything I ever found in Windows), however, using it to load programs saves a ton of time.

Other things I type in the Spotlight search box:

  • “mail” to load Apple Mail
  • “word” to load Microsoft Word
  • 24*450 (any math functions are tallied immediately)
  • e-mail addresses to find the latest e-mails I’ve sent to, or received from, people
